The darkest entry in the Patlabor film trilogy. WXIII steps away from the main cast to tell a quieter, more somber story — a detective procedural wrapped around a biological horror threat in Tokyo Bay. It's a different tone from the first two films, but rewards patient viewers with one of the most emotionally grounded stories in the franchise.
